Kenya is ready to host the African Nations Championships (CHAN), President William Ruto reiterated to the visiting CAF delegation led by CAF President Patrice Motsepe. The president has reaffirmed the countryās commitment to hosting the tournament saying that significant progress in preparations to ensure the tournamentās success.
The President said renovations at key venues, including Moi Sports Centre Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium, as well as upgrades are underway at the Ulinzi Sports Complex and Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi, as well as Kirigiti Stadium in Kiambu, which will serve as training facilities for participating teams are on track and will meet international standards ahead of the event.
āKenya is pulling all the stops to be ready to host the African Nations Championships (CHAN) in February 2025. I thank the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for their confidence in our countryās ability to host the games,ā the president said on today while hosting CAF President Patrice Motsepe and his delegation at State House, Nairobi, to discuss Kenyaās readiness for CHAN. Motsepe was accompanied by CAF Fourth Vice-President Seidou Mbombo Njoya and Secretary-General Veron Mosengo-Omba. Kenyan officials present included Federation of Kenya Football (FKF) President Hussein Mohamed, FKF Vice-President McDonald Mariga, and CHAN/AFCON Head of Secretariat Mike Rabar.
